Overcoming the Natural Man - Yielding to the Spirit

So I was reading in Mosiah and came across the famous scripture about the natural man and I decided to dig a little deeper into how to overcome the natural man. That scripture tells us how. The first way is by yielding to the Spirit.

President Boyd K Packer stated, "We cannot set off on a wrong course without first overruling a warning."

I feel so blessed that I have the gift of the Holy Ghost. I do, however, recall times (in the not so distant past) that I ignored small promptings from the Spirit. So how do I improve my ability to listen and react to the promptings of the Spirit? Here are a few things that I am going to try:

• First I must live in a way that the Spirit can dwell with me.
• Act on all thoughts that I have to do good. Whether it be the Spirit or not it will bring me closer to the Spirit so that I can be better prepared to hear.

Those are my goals for this week.
